The National Shelters Network (NSN) is a nationwide alliance established and led by the Centre for Domestic Training and Development (CDTD) to strengthen protection systems for survivors of violence, exploitation, and abuse across Kenya. The network brings together shelters and rescue centres to enhance coordination, improve service delivery, and champion survivor-centered care.
Building on CDTD’s long-standing expertise in shelter management and protection work, NSN advances safe housing, trauma-informed support, and pathways for reintegration for women, girls, and other at-risk groups. Today, the network unites 90+ member shelters across 18 counties, working collectively to uphold safety, dignity, and justice for all survivors.
