Labor Migration

Protecting Labour Migrants & Ensuring Safe Migration

Through the Labour Migration Pillar, CDTD strengthens the protection, safety, rehabilitation, and social reintegration of labour migrants and survivors of exploitation. The pillar focuses on advocacy for the rights of labour migrants in the EAC and the diaspora, development of training curricula for migrant domestic workers, pre-departure training for those travelling to the Gulf States, and providing direct assistance to victims of human trafficking, forced labour, migrants in distress, and returnees. It also supports the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for shelters assisting survivors and provides critical information on safe migration, ensuring that every migrant can access protection, support, and opportunities for a secure future.
