Through this pillar, Centre for Domestic Training and Development (CDTD) enhances the victims’ protection, safety, rehabilitation and social reintegration through:.
- Advocacy for the protection of labour migrants in the EAC and Diaspora
- Development of the migrant Homecare Management curriculum for migrant Domestic Workers
- Conducting Pre-departure training for labour migrants to the Gulf States
- Providing direct assistance to victims of human trafficking, forced labour, migrants in distress and returnees.
- Development of SOPs for Shelters that support Victims of Human Trafficking.
- Supporting migrant returnees to self-organize for advocacy on migrant workers’ rights
- Providing information on safe migration
Our Journey
2008 → Partnership between International Organization for Migration (IOM) and CDTD for "phase 2 of the Counter Human Trafficking in Kenya through Capacity Building, Awareness Raising and Assistance to Victims" project.
2010 → Sixteen victims of trafficking successfully assisted and reintegrated.
2011 →CDTD appointed by IOM as a member of the taskforce for developing guidelines for victim assistance of Human Trafficking in the East Africa Region.
2014 → Consortium formed with ANPPCAN Regional office and Childline Kenya to combat urban child trafficking in Kenya through the project “Contributing to the elimination of urban child trafficking in Kenya”
2018 to Date → Talia Agler Girls Shelter served over 200 local and international girls and women victims of Trafficking..
2022 → Consultative forum for free movement within EAC
