Scovia is back to school!
Following the BBC documentary on The Hidden Lives of House Helps that was released on 19th May 2019, Scovia received support to stay in school. The seventeen year old lady had left her home in Uganda in search for a better life in Nairobi earning money through being a house help / domestic worker. That was not to be the case for her though. Her ambition of making money in the city was cut short by the police who found her with no identification card nor visa to allow her to work in Kenya. They referred her to the safe hands of Talia Agler Girls Shelter as a rescue case. At the moment, we are pleased to inform you that Scovia was enrolled in a school close to her home village where she continues to pursue a better future through education. Months into her successful reintegration, Scovia has settled in well in the school and is already recording impressive results.
